Instructors

These instructors are recognised as having the skills to teach the syllabus and the principles applied within Jinen Karate Jitsu. They have given years of service and set high standards in skills and character and are great role models.

Max Bell

(Menkyo Chuden / 3rd Dan) Training since 1972 (18 years in Rob Dobson Karate)

Max began his training at Rob Dobson's Karate in 1972 and continued on into jujitsu with me many years later and now attends regularly. His striking and kicking skills, the co-ordination and ability to show these skills makes him a great asset to the club.

Brian Tiley

(Menkyo Shoden / Ist Dan and IBF 3rd Dan Zenbukan Karate)

Training for over 30 years in judo and karate with Bill Vaughan and having been involved in setting up a Womens and Childrens club with Paul Monopoli has shown the commitment that Brian has to martial arts. With his excellent character and coaching skills we are honoured to have him wear our badge. He turns up regularly to training and enjoys sharing his skills. He is the role model that all clubs would hope for.

Our people of the Szlagowski line who have graded to Shodan and are still training regularly are Max Bell, Brian Bellchambers, David Gooding, Brian Tiley. Dave Asby, Yianni Pana and David Ward were graded to blackbelt also.

In 2002 I wrote one certificate for a "Bluebelt" that says I "recognize him as a Blackbelt in martial arts" on the basis of other certificates he showed me to 3rd Dan. I did not say "I graded him".
Another person I gave an *Honory Menkyo Chuden for effort and input but he NEVER did a grading with us. Neither of these were gradings and they never fought as is the requirement for Dan Grades.

If they aren't named above then they are not and have never received a Blackbelt with us but have dressed up the circumstances to try and claim some creditability.

*Honory says nothing of ability. John Howard was given an Honory 5th Dan in Kyokushin but never trained.
