There is nothing fancy about the style or approach to training. This is a martial art with a long history, real credentials and focus on conditioning, flexibility and reflexes to build confidence, awareness, strength and character.
Jinen Karate Jitsu ingrains principles to build reflexes for life, exploiting natural actions and reactions to effect techniques including striking and kicking, locks, throws, grappling, weapons and self-defense, pressure point and restraint strategies, pinching, choking and escapes.
Jinen Karate Jitsu teaches combat and self defence skills to stay safe. Principal instructor Kym Reid's peers still have contact and he is a member of the 1st Karate club in Australia. Blackbelts, titles, age or numbers of students/clubs indicate nothing of experience or character. Always check with better known organisations like the IBF Australia which has many affiliated organizations and a network of instructors throughout SA who have been training for decades.
Kym Reid has been training continuously since 1972 in SA. Some students have been training for over 30 years and are still enjoying it. Many also have blackbelts in other styles. Our focus is on positive outcomes for our students caught in adverse situations. We are glad if you are a competition title winner at 30years of age, but priority is surviving an attack at the ATM when you are 70.

Kevin Walsh's "Fight for Life 2012" Campaign against cancer.
Bursting from the success of "Fight for Life 2010" comes "Fight for Life 2012" This time we will look at the larger picture. We are attempting for the first time ever to unite the worldwide martial art community in raising money and awareness of cancer. We will encourage organisations and individuals to help by running Fight for Life seminars across Australia and internationally.
Written by Kevin Walsh - SA's contribution will be held Sun 28th Oct. by Kym Reid
