There is nothing fancy about the style or approach to training. We are a genuine martial art with a long history, real credentials and focus on conditioning, flexibility and reflexes to build confidence, awareness, strength and character.
Jinen Karate Jitsu or "Natural Empty-Hand Method" ingrains principles that builds reflexes for life, exploiting natural actions and reactions to effect techniques includes striking and kicking, locks, throws, grappling, weapons and self-defense, pressure point and restraint strategies, pinching, choking and escapes.
We prefer to train a set of skills to improve your safety. We're not in it for the money and blackbelts, age or titles indicate nothing of experience or character so always check with relevent bodies like the IBF Australia which has many affiliated organizations and a network of many instructors in SA that have known each other for decades. Fortunately my instructors in karate and jujitsu still have contact and we are recognized as a part of the 1st Karate club in Australia.
I am the principal instructor and have been training continuously since 1972 in SA. Currently I am National Vice President of the IBF Australia. We have students who 30 years later are still enjoying their training. Many also have blackbelts given by other instructors. I am glad to say we have had a lot of positive outcomes for our students caught in adverse situations and that’s what’s important to me. I don’t care if you are a competition title winner at 30years of age, I want you to survive an attack at the ATM when you are 70.
